Birthday Celebration, I guess

Thanks, Steve, for the birthday greeting on the blog. And yes, I will always be 10 years older. However, you are only as old as you feel, right? Most of the time I still feel pretty young....emphasis on MOST.

Thanks, Rob and Denise for the balloons! I really liked them because they only had one black balloon in the pack....it could have been ALL black. When the lady delivered them, she said, "Well, it's no secret how old you are!" -- due to the fact that there were two balloons -- one that said, "Oh no, the BIG 4-O" and the other one just said "40".

Thanks for the card, Lori, I just opened it as I was writing on this blog. I appreciate your thoughtfulness.

At the party on Thursday, Brad and Helene got me a cool present. It was a Cabela's cap, but in a Victoria's Secret bag...it also had a roll of toilet paper that correlated with the card. The card had a picture of a guy sitting on the toilet in an outhouse. Inside the card read, "Life is like a roll of toilet paper: the closer you get to the end, the quicker it goes!"

Steve and Kathy Johnson gave me a card that read, "Another year older? Things could be worse. If we were dogs, we'd have seven birthdays every year....(inside) plus, we'd have dog breath and drink out of toilets...Look on the bright side and have a Happy Birthday!" Thanks for the word of encouragement....

On Wednesday night, the day before my birthday, the entire church at Morning Star dressed in black and threw a party filled with ice cream cake decorated with tombstones, a grim reaper, and a "Happy Bereaved Birthday". Even the "Happy Birthday" song was sung in a minor key. It was entitled, "Another Birthday" Wow! I didn't realize that there was no life after forty!

Happy 40th Chris!

Hope you had a great birthday! Mom said you had a party with them and Julie and Cathy. I find comfort in the fact that no matter how old I get you'll still always be 10 years older. Ha Ha! Hope all is well in IL.

Evan's 7th Birthday!

We enjoyed celebrating Evan's 7th birthday today! He is growing up fast. We began the day with a chocolate chip pancake breakfast prepared by dad and then ended the day with a mint chip cake from DQ followed by some cool presents.

In between we went ice skating and enjoyed a great dinner at Giordanno's. We had Kids for Truth at church tonight so we fit that in as well. It has been a great day. Chris took off the entire day from work and Margaret even cancelled her lessons (and took the entire day off from cooking).

We hope that you enjoy the video.

We think of you all often and hope that you have a great week.
